Orlo Oliver Brown, 94, a lifelong Delavan resident, died at his home July 11, 2015.
He was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Troy, to Herman August Brown and Clara Amelia Gruelich. He was a 1938 graduate of Delavan High School. He married Kathryn Louise Liddle on June 13, 1942, at the United Church of Christ-Congregational in Delavan. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He then started his banking career with Wisconsin State Bank in Delavan where he stayed 35 years. During that time he graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1962. He later moved to Farmers State Bank in Darien and worked there for 15 years. He was a 70-year member of the UCC-Congregational of Delavan. He was a member of American Legion Post 95. He served his community on the police commission, Spring Grove Cemetery Association and Little League.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia, (Richard) Arenz, of Delavan, and Mary Kay (Roger) Davis, of Darien, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, his parents and other family members.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Betzer Funeral Home with the the Rev. Jean Wallenfang officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
