Lowell W. Wilson, 98, of Whitewater, died on June 30, 2015, at home.
He was born in Union Grove on Nov. 11, 1916, the son of Robin G. and Sadie (Hay) Wilson. He married Ruth A. Cooper in Hudson Dec. 24, 1944, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2014.
Lowell retired in 1980 from the Janesville School District where he had taught Physics and was the Library Media Coordinator. He was a member JARTA, the Wisconsin Library Association, the Wisconsin Media Association where he was a 50-plus year Charter Member, the EAA, and The American Amateur Radio Club.
He is survived by his nieces, and nephews, Jim Cooper of Lyman, Wyo., Barbara (Michael) Canik, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and John (Lori) Carlson, of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth, and a son, Robin L. Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., July 4 at Richmond United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kim Brumm officiating. Inurnment will be in Milton Lawns Mausoleum.
Memorials are preferred to Wisconsin’s Educational Media and Technology Association for the Lowell Wilson Scholarship Fund.
