Darlene Zanton, 92, passed away April 20, 2015, at the Agrace Center, Janesville.

She was born Jan. 31, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Eda (Kienbaum) Wegner. She married Merlin Zanton, July 31, 1947.

She worked in the Whitewater Raincoat factory and was a homemaker. She was a Johnstown 4-H Sewing Leader. She sewed hundred’s of quilts for her church, First English Lutheran Church, Whitewater. Darlene enjoyed sewing clothes, costumes, stuffed animals and quilts for her family. She was an avid card player.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Robert; a son-in-law, Larry Taugher; a sister, Dorothy; brothers, Earl, Merle, Marvin, Howard, Ivan and Arthur (Bud).

She is survived by her son, James (Mary Jo), Avalon; a daughter-in-law, Jody, of Wauwatosa; a daughter, Judith, of Loveland, Colo.; grandchildren, Geoff (Sara), Jenna (Michael), Tricia, Marie (Adam), Lisa (Jon), Tom (Caitlyn), Steve, Matt, and Anna. Her eight great-grand children are Marianna, Sam, Henry, Luke and Maggie Zanton; and Simon, Zeke and Abe Mood.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on April 27 at the First English Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., Whitewater, with the Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery, Town of Richmond.

Visitation will be held on April 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church until the time of the services.
