Terry Stokes, 64 of Wisconsin Dells, and formerly of East Troy, died March 15, 2015, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born September 18, 1950, in Hillsboro, to the late Frank and Catherine (Dobbs) Stokes.
He grew up in South Beloit and following graduation he went to work for the Milwaukee Road, which later was renamed Soo Line and at present is Canadian Pacific Railroad. His last position was engineer and he retired in 2010 after 42 years.
He married Vicki Wargowsky in March 0f 1971.
He lived for 30 years in South Beloit, 18 years in East Troy and since 1998 in Wisconsin Dells.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his four granddaughters. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on his hobby farm where he tended his gardens, traveling especially to Alaska, the southwestern states and to Maine. He also had been a member of the Newport township board.
Survivors include his wife; son, Jeremy (Bethany), Stevens Point; daughter, Heather (Joe) Rudolf, Elkhorn; granddaughters, Morgan, Laine, Evelyn and Lydia; and a sister, Sandie (Jack) Bils, St. Charles, Ill.
A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the South Beloit Businessmen’s Hall, 525 Washington St., South Beloit, Ill.
The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin assisted the family.
