Marion Irene York, 90, of Downing, passed away on March 6, 2015, at the Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin.
Marion was born July 17, 1924, in Whitewater, to Elmer and Irma (Holt) Foote. Marion married Wayne A. York on March 20, 1943.
They dairy farmed for several years in the Cambridge/Fort Atkinson area where they raised their children before moving to a hobby farm near Downing in 1991. Marion enjoyed her flower gardens and traveling with family. She traveled to every state but five, cruised the Caribbean and also traveled to several countries in Europe.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Wayne in 1993; sisters, Arlene Owens, Ruth Ann (Peter) Scholle and Dorothy Rubitsky; brothers, Robert (Mary) Foote, Ivan Foote, Richard “Dick” (Linda) Foote; grandsons, Richard “Rick” York and Walter “Wally” York.
Marion is survived by children, LeRoy (Judith) York, Dan (Gayle) York, DonnaJean (Lawrence) Stilen, Virginia “Ginny” York and Mariann (Richard “Rick”) Kruchten; grandchildren, and great grandchildren; Christine (Keith) Holbrook, Andrew and Peter, Lee (Anastsia “Anna”) York, Addison, Jeremy and Jason, Tammy (Dale) Roe, Brittany, Kathy (Scott) Uptagraw, Kacy and Brandon, Roger (Susan) York, Josh, Lauron and Dakota, Steven Graffin, Patrick Graffin, Cody, Connor (Meegan) Graffin, Wyatt, Hallie, Molly, David York-Kruchten; Richard (Hope) Kruchten, Alexis, James, Dean and Caleb, Matthew Kruchten, Daisy; brother, Robert (Nancy) Foote, sister in-law, Esther Foote; brothers in-law Bill Owens and Ron Rubitsky. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Glenwood City, with Rev. Pastor Curtis Rohland officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater on Thursday at 12 p.m. with Rev. Harold Zimmick officiating.
Friends may call the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may given to St. Jude’s Hospital or The Children’s Miracle Network.
