Robert M. Gallup, 88, of Delavan, died at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn on Dec. 31, 2014.
Robert was born July 3, 1926, in Illinois. He is the son of Mable Vierck and Arthur Gallup. He married Dorothy Longman on Dec. 20, 1947, at the Brick Church in rural Walworth. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 95. He was a member of the Delavan United Methodist Church. During his working life, he owned and operated Robert Gallup Electric. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, James (Mary) Gallup, of Janesville; a daughter, Judy (Gary) Hopkins, of Delavan; two sisters, Jeanette Wright, of San Diego Calif., and Betty Peacock, of Lake Geneva; a brother, Gene (Marlys) Gallup, of Delavan; and three grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer and Jason.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Delavan United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stan Curtis officiating. Military burial services will be at 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Delavan Township. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. to the time of service Monday. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
