George M. Wolfe, 76 of Portage and formally of Waterloo, died Dec. 12, 2014. He was born on Jan. 2, 1938, in East Troy, to the late Edward and Alma (Gerloff) Wolfe.
He married Darlene Willms on Oct. 15, 1960.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for American State Equipment of Milwaukee for many years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Waterloo. He was also a member of Waterloo American Legion, Wings Over Wisconsin, the Waterloo Rod & Gun Club, and a life-long member of the National Rifle Association.
He loved the outdoors and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Lisa, La Crosse, Jeffery (Mary), Mosinee, Kristine, Osseo, Minn., and Mark, Portage; grandchildren, Hayley and Elijah Wolfe; brother, Floyd (Mary), Burlington; sisters, Dorothy (Bob) Stoll, Burlington, and June Hudson, North Prairie. He is also survived by a number nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his brother, Lee, and sisters, Janet and Evelyn.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 226 E. Madison St., Waterloo, with Rev. Rob Kosky presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in the Town of Portland.
