Phyllis Lucille Tiggemann, 92, of Genoa City, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.
The former Phyllis Lucille Katzenberg was born on April 9, 1922 in Genoa City, the daughter of the late Harry John and Nina Augusta Jacobson Katzenberg. Phyllis has been a lifelong resident of Genoa City. On Jan. 22, 1944 in Genoa City, she was united in marriage to Joseph William Ruenz. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1969. On June 29, 1973 in Lake Geneva, Phyllis was united in marriage to Harry William Tiggemann. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2014.
Phyllis worked as a secretary for the Morton Chemical Company in Ringwood, Ill. for many years. She was a former member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa City and a member of the women’s fellowship. She was a member of the Chapel on the Hill in Lake Geneva and of the Sponholtz-Deignan American Legion Post 183 Ladies Auxiliary. She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and enjoyed traveling, golfing and gardening.
Phyllis is survived by: one son, Thomas (Brenda) Ruenz of Genoa City; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Ruenz; two brothers, Harold “Schmaltz” Katzenberg and Michael R. Katzenberg and one sister, Isolyn Katzenberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at the Chapel on the Hill, N2440 Ara Glen Dr. Lake Geneva,. Interment will be at 2:30PM in Hillside Cemetery in Genoa City. The Tiggemann Family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the time of services at the Church. Memorial Remembrances may be made to the Chapel on the Hill N2440 Ara Glen Dr. Lake Geneva, WI. 53147.
