Mervin “Merv” F. Linden, 83, of Delavan, passed away Oct. 5, 2014, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born in Potosi on Oct. 12, 1930, to Joseph and Freda (Kreiser) Linden. Merv proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Nancy Slater on July 26, 1969, in Loves Park, Ill. Merv worked at GM for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Snow Buddies and the American Legion. Merv enjoyed Nascar, snowmobiling, gardening, watching the Packers, fishing, boating and walking their dog, Snuggles.
Merv is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy, of Delavan; two children, Michael (Mary) Linden, of Delavan and Onalaska, and Patty (Jim Schumacher) Linden, of Delavan; three grandchildren, Nicole, Andrew (Amber) and Travis (Reagan); five great grandchildren; and a sister, Colleen (Gilbert) Kunkel, of Platteville. Merv is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Monroe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Monroe Funeral Home is assisting the family.
