George J. Adams, 84, passed away on Sept. 27, 2014 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn.
He was born in Chicago on Nov. 18, 1929 to Michael Adam (Hungary) and Marie (Goeller) Adam. He had two brothers and two sisters. In 1954, he married Jennice Wilson. While their family was still small, they moved from Chicago to the Lake Geneva area where they made their roots and raised six children.
Over the years, George took on many roles, mostly that of a driver. He drove delivery trucks and school busses. He drove his children to various destinations. The role he was best at was the role of father. George was a hard-working family man who enjoyed the simple things that life had to offer. He was quiet, strong willed, generous, and kind with a great sense of humor. He lived his life on his own terms.
George is survived by his children, Michael (Lorna) Adams, of Oshkosh, Dawn (Steve) Rosencrans, of Delavan, Karen (Joe Pierson) Adams, of Whitewater, Kathleen (Brian Lais) Adams, of Elkhorn, Melissa (Steve Bartz) Adams, of Delavan, and Jennifer (Matthew) Wittig, of Elkhorn; a sister, Anni (Russell) Jones; a brother, Michael (Else) Adams; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his wife, Jennice Adams; a sister, Rose Rodey; and a brother, Lou Adams.
George was a humble man and had requested that no formal services be held for him. Thank you to Dr. Kowalski, Lakeland Health Care Center, Mercy Walworth Hospital, Aurora Lakeland Hospital, and Delavan Lake Sanitary District.
Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan is assisting the family.
