Rodney “Rocky” L. Griffin, 65 of Delavan, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born Nov. 4, 1948, in Chicago, to John and Iva Lee (McIlwain) Griffin. Rodney was united in marriage to Nancy Gottstein on Nov. 4, 1966, in Chicago. He spent his working career as a die maker in Chicago, then in the Delavan area before his retirement. Rodney served in the United States Army. He was a member of Legion Post 95, and an avid Chicago Bears, White Sox and Blackhawk fan.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of Delavan; his son, Derek Griffin, of Delavan; his best friend, Wrigley; one sister, Susan; two step-sisters, Tina and Debbie; one brother, John; three step-brothers, Bobby, Roy Lee and Timmy; his mother, Iva Lee, of Alabama; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his father, John.
Committal cervices will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Monroe Funeral Home in Delavan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Legion Post 95 of Delavan.
