A surprise to many, but not to the Lord, Richard “Dick” Edward Schwall, died from natural causes and passed to eternal life on April 24, 2014.
He was preceded in death on March 15, 2014, by his wife Norma.
He was born in Evanston, Illinois on April 7, 1936, the son of William J. and Caroline (Weidner) Schwall.
Dick graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He worked as a pilot for American Airlines for 32 years.
On Dec. 26, 1972, Dick married Norma (Combecker) Gorman.
Dick was a member St. Patrick Catholic Church in Whitewater. Active member of the East Troy Lions Club and Past District 27-A1 Governor. He enjoyed aviation, agriculture, hunting, country music and puttering around the farm with his kids/grandkids.
Survivors include his children, Karen Lynne McGuire, Wonder Lake, Ill., Karen Ann (Tom) Schwall-Meyer, Westminster, Colo., Karla (Tom) Gilles, Poynette, Sharon Bower, Greenville, Kim (Todd) Seidl, Sun Prairie, Richard “Bud” Jr., Mukwonago, and Matthew, Prescott, Ariz.; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jacob) Clark, Shannon McGuire, Alicia Meyer, Ellen Meyer, Bradley Starks, Kyle Starks, Sara Bower, Hannah Bower, Kayleigh (Jon) Schmidt, and Nicholas, and brothers, William O. (Nancy “Sandy”), Round Rock, Texas, and David (Karen), Mukwonago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth.
A Mass Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1225 W. Main St., Whitewater. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, East Troy.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. on at the church Tuesday until the time of the Mass.
