Dale B. Riggs, 84, of Palmyra, died April 18, 2014. He was born on March 22, 1930, in LaGrange.
He married Colleen Murphy on Sept. 27, 1952, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Whitewater.
He managed the Strand Theater in Whitewater and worked at theaters in Elkhorn and Watertown. He was also employed at the University of Whitewater and the Whitewater city schools. After he retired, he was a playground supervisor at the Palmyra Elementary School.
He was involved with the Boy Scouts, the American Legion in Palmyra, and enjoyed traveling (especially cruises).
Survivors include his wife; children, Karen, San Antonio, Texas, Ken (Lisa), Watertown, Sandra (Bob) Douglas, Sussex, Gary, Suzanne, and John (Cindi-Sue), Palmyra; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Dianne Ehrhardt in 1998.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 919 W. Main St., Palmyra, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, with the Rev. Brian Wilk officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of Mass at the church.
