Mary Ellen Weiler Garber, 77, died at Mercy Hospital on Friday, March 28, 2014. She was born July 11, 1936, in Richardson, N.D., to Eleanor Hoerner and William Forster.
She received her Bachelors of Science degree and was a registered nurse while in college in the Twin Cities. She married Richard Weiler Oct. 12, 1958, at St. Andrews Church in Delavan. He died in 1962.
She married Bill Garber, Nov. 13, 1965, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Sharon. Mary and Bill Garber owned and operated the Garber Farm until Bill Garber’s death in 2003.
Mary Garber had her own cleaning business, taking care of maintenance and cleaning of Darien businesses. Mary was very active at St. Andrews Catholic Church. She loved her family with a passion and served her community unselfishly in many ways.
Mary is survived by two sons, David Weiler, of Sharon, and Darryl (Rhonda) Garber of Footville; two daughters, Deanne Weiler, of East Troy, and Donna (Joe) Garber, of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Matthew, Jason and Shanna; a sister, Rita (Harold) Leasure, of East Troy; and a brother, Gordon (Luann) Forster, of Rockford, Ill.
She was predeceased by her two husbands; her parents; and three brothers, Nobby, Fritz and Bill.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. April 2, 2014 at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Betzer Funeral Home. Memorials to St. Andrews Church or the Darien Fire and Rescue are suggested.
