Dr. Everett Fulton, 87, of Whitewater, died Dec. 19, 2013 in his sleep at The Glen in Whitewater. He was born on Feb. 14, 1926, in Eugene, Ore., the first son of the Rev. E.J. and Pauline (Smyly) Fulton.
He graduated from Eugene High School and went on to be awarded a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Ph.D. from various universities.
He served in the U.S. Navy as an officer during World War II.
He married his wife Catherine on Aug. 28, 1949. They came to Wisconsin in 1966, where he taught religious studies, and was the Dean of Letters and Sciences for many years.
He retired in 1988 and moved with his wife to Lakeland, Fla., until her death in 2011. At that time he returned to Whitewater to be closer to his daughter Lisa.
Surviving include his children, Lisa (Frank) Taylor, Whitewater, and Reed, Tampa, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Julie, Tampa, Fla.; brother, David (Amy), Bellvue, Wash.; sister-in-law, Junann Miller, Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Eric (Michelle) Taylor, Whitewater, Adam Taylor, Chicago, James (Melanie) Taylor, Whitewater, Casiddy, Tampa, Fla., and Nicholas, Tampa, Fla., and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, with the Rev. Don Norman officiating.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home until the time of services.
