Edward N. Beringer Jr., 92, of Delavan, died Dec. 13, 2013, at Willowfield Nursing Home Delavan. He was born April 11, 1921 in Chicago, to the late Edward N. and Marie (Zahnan) Beringer Sr.
He attended the University of Indiana and then was called into the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Dolores Agnes Blease on June 5, 1948, in Chicago.
He worked as a motor room technician at Sta-rite Pumps of Delavan for more than 25 years retiring in 1983.
After retiring Ed and Dolores lived in Texas. There he volunteered at the bird rescue, he loved to fish and help organize charter fishing trips, he enjoyed ceramics and growing orchids.
He was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Delavan, American Legion of Delavan, and was a former Boy Scout leader in Fontana.
Survivors include his wife; children, Edward N. (Lori) Beringer III, West Allis, and Denise (Gregory) Wojcik, Elkhorn; granddaughter, Melissa M. (Joseph) Lee, Elkhorn; great-grandsons, Joseph O. and Brandon G. Lee; brother, Richard (Delores), Woodstock, Ill.; sister, Patricia, Walworth; sister-in-law, Elaine, Crystal Lake, Ill.
He was further preceded in death by his daughter, Susan, and brother, Lawrence.
Memorial services for Edward will be held in 2014.
