Melissa Jeanne Patrick, 40, of Whitewater, passed away Oct. 13, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident in the Town of Whitewater.
Melissa was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Oct. 1, 1973 the daughter of James Heaton and Linda (Tucker) Heaton.
She graduated from Whitewater High School in 1992.
On Oct. 5, 1996, Melissa married Ralph Patrick.
Melissa worked at the Holiday Inn Express in Fort Atkinson. She was a full-time student, studying psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Melissa’s children were everything to her. She loved life and people, and loved to sing.
Survivors include her children, Josh and Abby; mother: Linda (Leon Price) Schmidt, Whitewater; father, Dan Heaton, North Carolina; stepfather, David Schmidt, Muskego; sisters, Tanya (Grant Brown) Scherer, Whitewater, Theresa Schmidt, Madison, Lillian (Walter Williams) Heaton, Raleigh, N.C., and Tabatha (Robbie) Joyner, Nashville, N.C.; the father of her children, Ralph, Whitewater; grandmother, Lois (Gene Sullivan) Tucker, Jefferson; nephews and nieces, Daniel Lindsey, Katie Scherer, Emily Scherer, and Lucas Scherer.
She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to numerous to mention.
Melissa was preceded in death by her grandfather Mel Tucker.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the First English Lutheran Church 401 W. Main St., Whitewater, with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of the services.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the Patrick Children Education Fund established at First Citizens Bank in Whitewater.
