Gail Richard Dietz, 68, of Crystal Lake, Ill., died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Centegra Hospital–McHenry, McHenry, Ill. He was born Nov. 19, 1944, in Oak Park, Ill., to the late Alvin Carl and Irma Eileen (Eshleman) Dietz.
He graduated from York High School in Elmhurst and Elmhurst College with a degree in accounting. He worked for Mars/Keebler until his retirement in 2001.
He married Shirlene K. Humphrey Dilley at Hope Covenant Church in Crystal Lake on April 10, 1999.
He was a member of B & B of McHenry, and a square dance caller and member of the Callerlab Association.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Bullock, Darien, and Bridgette (Dennis) Mendrzycki, Janesville; grandchildren, Steven, Ian, Xavier, Bradley, Jason and Diana; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday Oct. 10 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, Ill.
Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. time of service Friday Oct. 11 at Hope Covenant Church, 451 Ackman Road, Crystal Lake, Ill., with the Rev. Bill Orris officiating.
Burial will be in Darien Cemetery.
