ROBERT ‘BOB’ A. BLYTH

Robert “Bob” Alfred Blyth, 87, of Weatherford, Okla., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at Weatherford Regional Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wis., to Laurence Dale and Margaret (Klink) Blyth.

Robert was raised and attended school in East Troy and graduated from East Troy High School in 1944.

Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. Robert served aboard the USS LCS (Mighty Midget) 61, which was positioned primarily in the South Pacific until the end of the war in 1946.

He attended the University of Alabama before returning to East Troy. While living in East Troy he was employed by Burlington Brass Works where he met and married his wife, Mary Erline on Oct. 30, 1954.

In 1956 he was employed by Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline as a measurement engineer, which resulted in him relocating several times until he ultimately moved to Weatherford in 1982. He remained an active member of the Weatherford community until his passing.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening, and cooking.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Margaret (Blyth) Pearson of Janesville; grandson, Jeffery (Teri) Pearson of Beloit; two granddaughters, Patricia (Richard) Craft of Eagan, Minn., and Victoria (Tim) Swenson of Janesville; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and his dear friend, Tiffany Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Andrew Blyth; wife, Mary Blyth; and his son-in-law, Patrick Pearson.

A Mass of Christian burial took place on Sept. 9, 2013 at St. Eugene Catholic Church. The Rev. Chris Tran officiated. Burial took place at Fort Sill National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
