GERALD F. SCHULZ

 

Gerald F. Schulz, 70, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Gerald was born July 25, 1943 in Tomah, Wis. to Lloyd and Verna (Jensen) Schulz.

He graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School, Class of 1961.

On Sept. 21, 1963, Gerald and Kathleen Gruenwald were united in marriage in Wisconsin Dells.

Most of Gerald’s career was in the retail food business in various cities, climbing the ranks from utility clerk to store manager. He retired from Piggly Wiggly in 2003.

He had many hobbies including genealogy, model trains, gardening, and attending and watching professional sports.

In addition to his wife, Kathy; Gerald is survived by his mother, Verna; his children, Steven (Michelle) and their children, Paul and Laurel Schulz, Michael (Christy) and their children, Avery and Sam Schulz; brothers, Rolland (Adelia) Schulz, Darrell (Rita) Schulz; sisters, Carol Zick, Diane Scott, Christine (Bruce) O’Connor-Burrill, and Carmen Huston; brothers-in-law, Vernon Gruenwald Jr. and Monte Ortman; sister-in-law, Lisa Shirley; and many other family and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd; father-in-law, Vernon Gruenwald; brother-in-law, Duane Zick; sister-in-law, Diane Ortman; and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for Christ Lutheran Church and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. The Rev. Dana Loney will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
