Phyllis Mae Cook, 85, of Whitewater, formerly Watertown passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Alden Estates in Jefferson.
Phyllis was born on Nov. 26, 1927 in Thorp, Wis., the daughter of Russell and Estelle (DeBarr) Mead.
She married Burien T. Cook on Nov. 30, 1947 in Greenwood, Wis. Phyllis worked as an RN at Zion International Hospital in Zion, Ill., and Cherokee Village Baptist Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in Fourth Day Community of Via de Cristo. She enjoyed golf, travel and spending time with her family.
Survivors include five children, Robert (Judy) Cook of Watertown, Gloria (Daniel) Navarre of Whitewater, Kathleen Princeton of Pewaukee, Gail Cook of Watertown and Brenda (Peter) Paulson of Beloit; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Mead of Wausau; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Joyce Warden, Shirley Wong and brothers, Robert and James Mead.
A Memorial Service was held July 17, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Watertown. The Rev. Pat Siegler of Zion Lutheran Church, Madison officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
