John C. Brennan, 83, of Lake Geneva, died July 5, 2013, at Mercy Walworth Hospital, Lake Geneva, after a battle with cancer. He was born July 16, 1929, in Woodstock, Ill., to the late George and Nell Brennan.
He graduated from Hebron High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison farm short-course program.
He married to Irene King on Oct. 12, 1947, in Harvard, Ill. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1999.
He was a lifelong dairy and grain farmer in Linn Township and also was a Spangler Seed dealer for 46 years.
He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Lake Geneva, Harvard Moose Lodge and the Farm Bureau.
He enjoyed going to the Walworth County Fair, Friday fish fry and a lifelong Chicago Cub fan.
Survivors include sons, J.C. and Jerry, both of Lake Geneva; sister, Mary Alice, Northbrook, Ill.; and brother, Bill (Joann), Southfield, Mich.
He was further preceded in death by his sister, Betty.
Services were July 9, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Schuerman officiating. Memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin–Madison cancer research department.
