Elizabeth Jane VanVleet, 87, of Delavan, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn. She was born March 4, 1926, in Rockford, Ill., to the late Will and Mabel (Tansey) Medaris.
She married Wilson “Bill” VanVleet on March 8, 1947, in Rockford, Ill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 2002.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Cromwell; daughters, Lori (Bruce) Logterman, Fairfield, and Teri (John) Deschner, Delavan; grandchildren Jonathon (Ingrid) Logterman, Melinda (Ryan) Hoffmann, Gregory Logterman, and Jami and J.R. (Lindsay Wall, fiancée) Deschner; great-grandchildren, Korina, Gunner, Naomi, and Bernice; and many nieces and nephews.
She was further preceded in death by her brother, John.
Services were July 8 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Delavan, with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Burial followed in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, Ill.
Memorials to Aurora VNA Hospice or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church are suggested.
