Betty Lou Davis-Robbins, 72, of Whitewater, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 11, 1940, in Elkhorn, to the late Betty Lou to Fred and Ruth (Parson) Rockwell.
She married Birney Davis on Aug. 3, 1963. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 2001.
She married Thomas Robbins on June 26, 2004. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2011.
She was a member of the Women’s Junior League, the Girl Scouts as Troup Leader, Phi-Lamda at University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and a recipient of National Reading Is Fundamental Award. During her time at UW-Whitewater, she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, worked for the school newspaper, The Royal Purple, and was active member in the Theater Department.
She spent her career as a reading specialist at Valley View Center in Hales Corners, Rockwell School in Fort Atkinson, Phoenix Middle School in Delavan and Mitchell Elementary School.
Survivors include her daughters, Suzanne (Thanh Nguyen) Davis, East Troy, and Kathleen Fuchs, Whitewater; grandsons, Christopher and Nathan Ngugen, and Zackery and Devin Fuchs; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were July 9 at the Whitewater Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Phil Milam officiating. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.
Monroe Funeral Home, Delavan, assisted the family.
