Eugene G. Degner, age 77, of Rochester, passed away June 7, 2013 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital.
Eugene was born July 31, 1935 to the late Herbert and Herrietta (nee Tellier) Degner.
Formerly of Muskego, Eugene attended The Rochester Agriculture School. He was then blessed to meet the love of his life, Shirley Flancher; they got married Dec. 17, 1955. Together they had three wonderful children.
Eugene was a hardworking man, who was employed for 25 years at Town & Country Waste, and most recently was employed at Great Stone Plus. Eugene loved the outdoors; his many hobbies included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and gardening. Among spending time with his family, Eugene was a great dancer who loved polka music.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Shirley Degner. Also survived by his adoring children, Deborah Petri (Tom), Daniel Degner (Linda), and Douglas Degner. His pride was his grandchildren, Megan, Elizabeth, Matthew, Angela, Cory, Drew, Shenna, Stacy, and Ben. He was further survived by his sister, Doris Crain (Ray) and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Anita Wolski and Betty Becker, and brother, Herb Degner.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 14 with visitation from 4-6 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church, 455 S. Jefferson Waterford. Memorial service will follow. Officiating will be Ron Tichy.
