DONALD D. DURAY

Donald D. Duray, 86, of Tomahawk, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Riverview, in Tomahawk. He was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Niagara, to Joseph and Frances (Sikorski) Duray. He grew up in the Elkhorn area and attended school there.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later married Doris Hudson on July 8, 1966, in Elkhorn. He worked for Burlington Brass Works as a foundry worker for many years. In 1979, he and his family moved to the Tomahawk area. He owned and operated Duray’s Whatnot Shop in Tomahawk for many years.

He was also a member of the VFW. He enjoyed taking part in local flea markets, woodworking, camping, fishing, and bluegrass music. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Ken (Antje) Duray, of Savannah, Ga.; daughter, Julie (Tom) Vink, of Tomahawk; sister-in-law, Shirley (Richard) Robinson, of Woodruff; grandchildren Vincent, Kevin, and Kirsten Duray, all of Savannah, Ga.; and his special friend’s, Jerry and Sandy Crow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2007, four Brothers, seven sisters, and a brother-in-law, Norman Hudson. Private Burial Services with Military Rites will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn.
