Dennis H. Anderson, 77, of State Road 11, Elkhorn, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. He was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Chicago. He was the son of the late John and Charlotte (Vitkus) Anderson.
He was united in marriage to Patricia A. Yanke on June 21, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963. He was employed for over 30 years with Frank Holton Band Company of Elkhorn, retiring from Badger Repair in 1999.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed watching his grandchildren in all of their sporting events. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and taking care of his lawn, but he especially enjoyed watching and feeding the wild birds in his backyard.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; three children, Lori (Tom) Hartz, of Lake Geneva, Jeff (Roxanne) Anderson, of Greendale, and Lynda (David) Slavens, of Canadian Lakes, Mich.; ten grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Steven and Eric Leech, Bennett and Spencer Hartz, Bo Slavens, Avery, Libby and Ruby Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Saverah Pierce and Tatum Leech; and a sister, Darlene Anderson, of Delavan. He is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn, with the Rev. Father Oriol Regales officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Elkhorn.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn.
