Rosemary “Posy” Christman, 89 of 311 W. Beloit Street, Darien, died at Lakeland Health Care Center on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Rosemary was born Nov. 9, 1923 in the Village of Darien, the daughter of Arthur H. Brown and Nettie Mae Heyer.
Rosemary graduated from Darien High School in 1941. She then attended the University of Wisconin-Whitewater. She married Archie Christman in Darien, on July 24, 1945. Archie predeceased her in 2000.
Rosemary worked in thep ost office in Darien for 28 years, 14 of those years as postmaster. She was a member of the Darien American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Debra) Christman of Competition, Mo., and Russell (Michelle) Christman of Darien; brother, Arthur Brown of Ft. Atkinson; and five grandchildren, Cody, Daniel, Brian, Jeffrey and Melissa.
She was predeceased by her husband, Archie , son, Robert, and a sister, Barbara.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Betzer Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Ida officiating. Burial followed in Darien Cemetery. A visitation was held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
A reception followed the burial services at the Darien American Legion Hall.
