Following a long illness, the Rev. Pamela C. Kerschner, left this world on Thursday morning, April 11, 2013, to be with her Lord and Savior and those Saints passed before. Pam was born in Elkhorn, Oct. 26, 1951, the daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy (Ollesch) Pruessing.
Pam was a graduate of Bigfoot High School “Class of 1969”. Furthering her education, she received a nursing degree from the Lutheran School of Nursing, Milwaukee. She served as a nurse in the United States Army on active duty from 1973-1977 and continued as a reservist until her retirement in 1991 as a Captain.
She left nursing to embark on a new ministry receiving her Masters of Divinity Degree from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. She was last serving as Pastor at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pam loved life with passion, commitment, love and faith to those she touched.
Survivors include her brother, Paul Pruessing of Mt. Pleasant; nephew, Tony Boggs of Mobile, Ala.; niece, Lindsay (Jesse) Lis of Delavan; three great nephews, Collin, Ian, and Harley; other relatives and dear friends. She was further preceded in death by her sister-in-law Barbara Pruessing.
A memorial service was held Sunday, April 14, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, Racine. Relatives and friends met with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Starbuck Middle School Barbara Pruessing Memorial have been suggested.
