Jess E. Schleiger Jr., 62 of Elkhorn, formerly of Delavan, died away at his home in Elkhorn on Sunday April 7, 2013. He was born Feb. 25, 1951, in Elkhorn, to the late Jesse and Marcella (Reach) Schleiger.
He worked as a cook for many years at the family restaurants located in Delavan, Lakeland Restaurant and then Jess’s Other Place. Recently, he worked at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn. Growing up on Delavan Lake, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristie Lynn; sister, Carol (James) Dillner; niece Tricia (Matt) Fletcher and their children, Michaela and Braelyn; and his nephew, Scott (Cheryl) Dillner and their children, Tyler and Addison. Also surviving are his cousins.
He was further preceded in death by his nephew, Michael.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Friday April 12, at the Millard Community Covenant Church, N6713 Highway O, Elkhorn. The Rev. Lyle Heinitz will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.
