Dale R. Austin, 52, of North Freedom, formerly of Fontana, passed away Feb. 14 at his home in North Freedom. He was born in Elkhorn on Feb. 24, 1960 to the late William Sr. and Mary (Goff) Austin. He was united in marriage to Rose Davenport in 1981 in Fontana. He started his working career at Charlie O’s restaurant in Williams Bay, then as a police officer in Lake Geneva. In later years, along with his brother Rich, he owned and operated “The Boys” lawn care and snow removal. He was also the past fire chief in Fontana.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, of North Freedom; daughter, Rosannah (Jacob) Todd of North Freedom; brother, William Jr. “Rich” (Linda) of Fontana; nieces, Mandi Austin and Sharon Carr and nephew, Doug Carr.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Community Church of Elkhorn with the Rev. Robert Peiffer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time at at the church on Wednesday.
