Jeanette Lucille Villers, 95, formerly of Whitewater, died on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at Vintage on the Pond in Delavan.
Jeanette was born in Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 15, 1917, the daughter of Percy and Hazel (Brophy) Preston.
She married Gaylord Arthur Villers (Sr.) on Oct. 30, 1937, in Hammond, Ind. Gaylord preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2010.
For many years, Jeanette worked as a secretary to the Curriculum Director of Park Ridge Public Schools.
With her husband, she had resided in Park Ridge, Ill., Black Earth and Estes Park Colo. before returning to Whitewater in her later years.
Jeanette was a devoted homemaker and mother to her children, and her personal activities related to her family life.
She also loved the American West, travel and working with antiques in her retirement.
She is survived by children, Joyce (Thomas) Ryan of Whitewater and Gaylord A. (Deborah) Villers Jr. of Barrington, Ill.; grandchildren, Josh (Hong Le) Ryan, Jamie Ryan, Ned (Kirsten) Villers, Kate Villers and Preston (Kelly Burgee) Villers; great-grandchildren, Fiona Ryan and Theo and Wyatt Villers; and a sister, Grace Baumeister of Barrington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Watts.
Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater.
