FRANK L. BAUMAN

Frank L. Bauman, 76, Marion, died unexpectedly at home Jan. 9, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1936 in Bloomfield to the late Carl and Ruth (Doyle) Bauman. He attended Genoa City Public School where he attended high school and later received his diploma through the United States Army in 1956. Frank served in the Army for three years, two of those spent in Germany. He played basketball in high school and never missed a chance to go fishing or hunting with his father and friends.

After his discharge from the Army Frank went back to Genoa City and worked as a painter as well as in an automotive factory. He was united in marriage to Karen Kiefer on March 3, 1962 in Lake Geneva. The couple lived in the Lake Geneva and Genoa City areas before moving to Marion in 1970.

Frank worked for Wisconsin Power & Light and after retirement enjoyed traveling with Karen. He was a current member of the Christ Congregational United Church of Christ in Clintonville for many years and was preceded in death by his wife Karen on October 3, 2009.

Frank was a council member at his church, a former Marion Lions Club member, and a Big Falls and Marion Bowhunters member for many years.

He is survived by his children: Scott (Marilyn) Bauman, Susan (Dave) Mattes, and Sherri (Clarence) Anderson; grandchildren: Amanda and Jayme Bauman, Danielle El Dabbas, Cody and Alissa Mattes, Brittney and Brooke Anderson; great-grandson Avery Avila; special friend, Dorothy Link; sisters: Carleen (Sam) Keller and Valri Ruenz; brothers: Edward (Nancy) Bauman, Gerald (Diane) Bauman,

Ronald (Micki) Bauman, and Ralph (Liz) Bauman.

Frank was further preceded in death by his wife, Karen; sisters, Lorraine and June and a brother, Carl, in infancy.

Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at the Christ Congregational United Church of Christ in Clintonville. The Rev. Jill Meyer officiated. Members of the Clintonville VFW Post #664 and American Legion Post #63 conducted military Honor Rites outside of the church following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion.
