Dorothy M. Zinzow, 95, Elkhorn, passed away quietly on Nov. 28 at Fairhaven in Whitewater.
She was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Corning, Iowa, to William and Etta (Eells) Liebhardt. After graduating from high school in Ladysmith in 1935, she moved to Lake Geneva in the late 1930s and worked at Dunn Lumber as their bookkeeper. On Nov. 8, 1941, she married Kenneth Zinzow in Lake Geneva, Wis.
After World War II she worked at Zinzow Construction Company for several years as their bookkeeper. In 1951 she and her husband, Ken, moved to Elkhorn.
Dorothy was a compassionate, kind person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and above all was a devoted and loving mother. She will always be in our hearts.
She is survived by her son John Zinzow, daughter-in-law Holly Neault (La Grange) and two grandchildren, Cassie and Clark Zinzow (Madison).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Zinzow, her parents and sisters’ Esther (Roy) Aune, Ruth Liebhardt, Opal (Harold) Dailey and brothers, Ralph and Dwight Liebhardt.
Celebration of her life and the lives of Betty Gaiser (cousin) and Richard Dailey (nephew), who also passed away this year, will take place at a family reunion planned for late summer next year in the Elkhorn area.
