ERVIN F. RUCKS

Ervin F. Rucks, 90, of E. Jefferson Street, Elkhorn, died Sunday Nov. 25, 2012, at Williams Bay Care Center, Williams Bay.

He was born March 25, 1922, in Berlin, Wis., the son of the late Frank and Lillian (Bauerfiend) Rucks.  He was united in marriage to Betty J. Beltz on Oct. 25, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Berlin, Wis.

Erv was employed over the years as a truck driver for William O’Donell Trucking, Steffke Freight and with the Walworth County Highway Department for over 27 years retiring in November 1985.        He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Elkhorn, former Little League baseball coach, former member of the Moose Lodge.  Erv enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.  His main hobby was building model railroads and collecting miniature farm machinery, especially John Deere.        Erv is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty.  6 children: Cheryl Koc of Greendale, Laurene (Martin) Schutte of Oak Creek, Dennis Rucks of Elkhorn, Keith Rucks of Milwaukee, Gary Rucks of San Francisco, Calif., and Jerry Rucks of San Lorenzo, Calif.  6 Grandchildren: Alana (Nick) Holter, Joshua Koc, Kristy (Greg) Doyle, Danielle, Katherine and Sydni Rucks.  4 great-grandchildren. 1 brother: Raymond (Marjorie) Rucks of Waukesha, Wis.  2 sisters: Lucille Toll of Berlin, Wis., and Margery Appleyard of Neillsville, Wis. Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Herbert, Orville and Donald.  2 sisters: Viola Wendt and Dorothy Ewald.

A funeral service was held Nov. 30 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 104 South Broad Street, Elkhorn.  Entombment was at Roselawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Delavan.
