Margaret G. Brinckmann, 94, formerly of Fontana, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn.
She was born Feb. 6, 1917 in Oshkosh to the late Sebastian and Maude (Cyrtmus) Bingen. She had three sisters and one brother. She graduated from Oshkosh High School and then worked for the telephone company in Oshkosh. She married William J. Brinckmann Jan. 13, 1940 in Oshkosh and they shared 57 years together raising their three daughters, sharing their strong faith and enjoying life. Bill preceded her in death in 1997.
Margaret spent her life volunteering for a number of organizations including Badger Council of Girl Scouts as neighborhood chairwomen and a leader. She was very active in the Harvard Moose Lodge and was voted Harvard Chapter #500 Co-Worker of the Year for the State of Illinois in 1992. Her faith, family and her local church were the cornerstone of her life. She was a Secular Franciscan for over 35 years.
She is survived by her daughters and their families; Patricia (Don) Harvey of Sharon, Carol (John) Palmer and Mary (Charles) Dawson both of Fairfield, Ark.; grandchildren, Julie, Daniel, Megan, Ryan, John, Marcia, William “B.J.”, Kerry and Bevin; 13 great grandchildren and brother, James (Jean) Bingen. Her sisters, Mary, Dorothy and Jean, further preceded her in death.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 until time of Funeral Mass Friday at the Church.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials may be made to St. Benedict Church or Alzheimer’s Assoc. of SE Wisconsin.
