Jeff “YT” White, 56, died on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012. He succumbed to a yearlong battle with cancer.
Jeff was born at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn on June 9, 1956 to Richard D. and Lois J (Grant) White. He attended Williams Bay Public School and graduated in 1974. He was baptized and confirmed a Christian at Williams Bay Lutheran Church.
Not enough can be said for the never-ending, fun-loving, laughter and high-spirited energy that was Jeff’s true nature. His laughter was infectious. Yet this demeanor pales only in comparison to the incredible care Jeffrey gave his friends and loved ones. Nothing was too much to ask. Even a hint of a problem or need for a hug or a kind word…he was right there…and you knew you had witnessed the real Jeff. He never stopped giving. You were always more important to him than he was to himself.
As a big-rig operator, Jeff’s love for the road afforded him the opportunity to meet and interact with people far and wide…and all who came in contact with him expressed what a joy he was to be around. He was consistently positive, optimistic, upbeat and exuberant throughout. Jeff will be remembered as someone who was welcomed everywhere.
After diagnosis a year ago, he opted for an aggressive treatment plan of chemotherapy and radiation, which, thankfully, afforded us more time with him. We are blessed to have known him, and his memory will live in our hearts forever.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Lois Jean (Grant) White of Farmington, Mo., David L. White (Pat Prosser) of Milwaukee, Laura Farnsworth of Darien, Thomas M. White of Farmington, Mo., and Roger D. (Tracy) White and nieces, Sarah Conroy, Kadi and Anna Nelson, Emily (Logan) Geidner; nephews, Benjamin Nelson, Ethan Harp and Keegan Propst. Many cousins, and countless incredible friends and supporters further survive him.
His best friend, Cliff “Cliffy” Cook and father, Richard D. White, with whom he was very close, precede him in death.
Jeff will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery next to his father. Together once again.
Visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. at Toynton Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha Street in Walworth on Wednesday, Oct. 31 and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1. The funeral service will commence at Toynton at 11 a.m., immediately following the final visitation period.
Please bring a memory of Jeff to share with us during the service. A graveside interment gathering will follow the funeral service at Roselawn Cemetery, junction of Hwy 67 and Hwy 50 between Williams Bay and Elkhorn.
Thank you, Jeffrey. We are all lucky to have known you.
