Avery J. McCarthy, 11, of Delavan went home to be with our Lord, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. She was born on Oct. 5, 2001 in Elkhorn to Bridget McCarthy and Scott Reese. She was a very enthusiastic fifth grader at The Delavan Christian Grade School in Delavan.
She is survived by her mother, Bridget (Matt Vavra) McCarthy of Delavan; father, Scott (Tammy Collins) Reese of Delavan; siblings, Jadrian Ochoa, Brody McCarthy-Vavra, Kaylee and Joey; aunts and uncles, Shannon (Jeff) Werfelmann, Shawn McCarthy, Patrick (Melissa Gann) McCarthy, Mike (Kim) Reese and Tracy (Danny) Huguley; grandparents, Bill and Lois McCarthy and Michael and Arlene Reese and great-grandmother, Johanna Sterken.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Henry Sterken and Victor (Lorraine) Patch.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday Oct. 29 at the Delavan Christian Reformed Church, 850 Oak Street in Delavan with the Rev. Dan Roeda officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Delavan Christian Grade School Gymnasium, 848 Oak St., Delavan. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan.
