Helen Marie Blakeley, 82, of Williams Bay died at the Williams Bay Care Center on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1929, to the late Frank and Lillian Vavra. She married Geryl Blakeley on June 6, 1947. She enjoyed her vacations in Northern Wisconsin, Florida and Texas. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed cheering on the White Sox and Packers. She never missed any of her family members’ sporting activities. She said she must have seen a million of their games. She was a member of the Williams Bay UCC Church.
She worked as a waitress and as a clerk at Doc’s Deli, Bell’s Store and the Bay Pharmacy. However, the jobs she did best were being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Geryl; sons, Richard (Sandee) of River Falls and William of Walworth; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was further preceded in death by her brother, Ronald; sister, Carolyn McCabe and her beloved son, Scott.
Public visitation for Helen Blakeley will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Toynton Funeral Home in Walworth. There will be a private family service with the Rev. Jean Wallenfangd officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memory Garden in Williams Bay.
