Dorothy Laura Korpela of East Troy was born into eternal life on Sept. 29, 2012 at the age of 88.
She was born on June 7, 1924 in Ironwood, Mich. Daughter of the late Steven and Mary (nee Skronski) Kubacki.
Dorothy married Tauno E. Korpela in October of 1940.
She is the loving mother of William (Joan) Korpela, Raymond (Dorothea) Korpela, and Karen (Jeffry) Houk; proud grandmother of Michelle (Eric) Ewald, Travis (Emily) Korpela, Kirk Korpela, Courtney (Andy) Berndt, and Noelle Korpela; cherished great-grandmother of Ethan, Lauren, Riley, Taylor, and Cohen; sister of Stanley Kubacki and Leocadia Wudi. Further survived by dear nieces, Jacqueline Paulson, Penny (Jack) Jacisin, Cheryl (Mike) Tully, and Susan (Jeff) Latus; other family and friends; and dear friend of Phyllis and Bonnie Case.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Tauno E. Korpela, son Michael Korpela, sisters Irene DelleNoggre-Andersen and Amelia Kniska, and a brother John Kubacki.
Dorothy was a member of St. James Catholic Church since 1954. She was employed at Oaks Manufacturing in Elkhorn, Clock It in Lake Geneva, QuadGraphics, and Cable Components.
She loved taking care of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and enjoyed travelling and shopping.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 830 County Road NN East, Mukwonago. Family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
