Wayne S. Rockwell, 92, of Whitewater, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 at Fairhaven in Whitewater.
Wayne was born in Richland County, Wis. on March 19, 1920, the son of Clark Wellington and Helen (Simmons) Rockwell.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
On Jan. 13, 1945 Wayne married Ida A. Medbury.
Wayne worked as a power plant engineer for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, and gardening.
Surviving are his children, Allen (Carol) Rockwell, Elkhorn, and Sharon (Bill) Nancarrow, Coon Rapids, Minn.; grandchildren, Jeff (Heather) Rockwell, Michelle (Robert) Markham, and Craig Nancarrow; great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Erik Rockwell; and sister, Eva Carmack, Tomah, Wis.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ida, brother Brandon Rockwell, and sister Catherine Erfert.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at the Fairhaven Chapel, 435 W. Starin Road, Whitewater.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater.
