Joanne Bell, 83, of Fontana, died July 25, 2012, at the Williams Bay Care Center after bravely enduring a six-year battle with bone cancer.
She was born Nov. 1, 1928 to the late Arthur and Della Jepsen. She married her childhood friend, Ken Bell on June 15, 1956 in Chicago. Before marriage, Joanne worked as a secretary at Kemper Insurance Company in Chicago.
She was passionate about opera and ballet, and she was an avid reader. Her quick wit and lovely smile will always be remembered.
She is survived by her husband Ken, daughter Jenny Van de Bogert and grandson Michael Van de Bogert.
She was further preceded in death by her brother John Jepsen and sister Delores Tantillo.
A memorial service was held at Toynton’s Funeral Home in Walworth on Aug. 3. Memorials may be made to the Lakeland Animal Shelter.
