Last week, DLK Enterprises, Inc., announced that it is donating $50,000 to the Whitewater Unified School District (WUSD) to help further education development in the school district.

DLK Enterprises and the Kachel family have had a long commitment to improving education at both WUSD and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

This year’s donation, presented Dec. 8, is earmarked for computer labs at the high school and the purchase of iPad tablets at Lincoln Elementary School.

“Two generations of our family have attended both Lincoln Elementary and Whitewater High School,” DLK Enterprises President Michael Kachel said. “We want to show our continual support for improving education in the Whitewater community.”

Mark Elworthy, WUSD District Administrator said, “The Whitewater Unified School District is fortunate to be a part of a community that values education. The School Board and staff are grateful for DLK Enterprises and the Kachel family’s donation of $50,000 that will be used to enhance our students’ educational experience.”

In conjunction with this gift, DLK Enterprises will also be designating a majority of this year’s annual David L. Kachel Memorial Scholarships – which range from $500 to $2,500 – to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students who major in education and who are tenants of DLK Enterprises.
