Lauren Hayes, a harpist from Whitewater who is currently pursuing her Masters Degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, coproduced a concert slated for Aug. 14 at the Janesville Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature Hayes be performing with two other students from the Royal Academy: Patrick Terry an award-winning countertenor who received his Bachelors degree in music from the University of Minnesota and Nick Bonadies on piano, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Hayes will be performing a North American premiere of a piece by Dominic Murcott (a London-based composer) for video, electronics, and harp. The concert will also feature several chamber pieces and 20th-century works, many of them by American composers including: Barber, Hoiby, Hindemith, Menotti and Rorem.
