Beat the summer heat and turn off the grill for a magic carpet ride July 9-11 with the Whitewater Summer School Playhouse production of “Aladdin, Jr.,” a classic Walt Disney adventure filled with music and magic, mayhem and romance, and memorable songs, including “Arabian Nights,” “One Jump Ahead” and “A Whole New World.”
Aladdin, a kind and very clever street urchin living off his wits in Agrabah, City of Enchantment, falls in love with Princess Jasmine. Unfortunately…the Sultan has declared that Princess Jasmine must pick a husband within 24 hours. She turns down the offers from wealthy suitors, and Aladdin and the evil Jafar do battle for Jasmine’s love.
Thanks to the assistance of a genie, Aladdin wins Jasmine’s hand in marriage.
The Whitewater Unified School District Summer School Playhouse cast of 48 includes students who will be entering sixth grade in the fall through Whitewater High School Class of 2015 graduates, all under the direction of Jim McCulloch and Liz Elliott.

“Aladdin, Jr.” will be performed in the Whitewater High School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, July 9, 10 and 11, along with a 2 p.m. matinee performance on July 11.
Reserved seating tickets will be $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are now on sale at the Whitewater High School box office near the entrance to the auditorium. For more information, call (262) 472-8178.
