Toppers Pizza has always considered itself generous when it comes to flavor, but the Whitewater-based brand has also made a conscientious effort to generously give back to the community. Just in time for the holidays, Toppers Pizza made a $100,000 donation to Feeding America.

“Hunger in America is a real problem and it’s one we are proud to help fight,” Scott Gittrich, Founder and President of Toppers Pizza said. “But even with our donation, and the generosity of everyone else that donated to Feeding America this year, there is still way more that we all could be doing.”

Gittrich presented a check for $100,000 to a team from Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin representing the national organization to close out TODAY’S TMJ4’s food/fund drive Dec. 17. The $100,000 was raised through a team effort across the brand’s 66 locations, which span 11 states.

“Rallying behind Feeding America has been a fantastic way to continue building on the Toppers spirit with all of our team members,” said Gittrich. “It’s a rewarding feeling to see the entire Toppers family energized behind such an incredible cause and this partnership makes us a better company overall.”

Toppers Pizza has partnered with Feeding America, for the past four years. With the $100,000 donation in 2014, the brand has collectively raised over $250,000 since beginning the partnership. Every dollar donated to Feeding America provides eight meals for families in need, so that is the equivalent of more than 2 million meals.

The brand plans to continue their partnership and fundraising efforts with Feeding America in 2015 by aiding in the fight against hunger with their existing restaurants and those they plan to add this year in the Midwest and beyond.

The company which is headquartered in Whitewater currently employs more than 650 in Wisconsin throughout their 35 locations in the state, and more than 1250 across the U.S. Plans for 2015 include the addition of four new locations in the Chicago market and a focus on expansion and growth in Cincinnati, Des Moines, Dallas, Kansas City, and St. Louis.
