Rick McCarthy of Library Vision, Inc. will present the Visioning and Master Plan for the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library on Monday Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the library.
Changes have been occurring in today’s society creating a need for a vision and a new methodology in the way in which libraries are planned. The Irvin L. Young Library Board has been working diligently on obtaining information to continue the progress on the library addition building project.
Though the plan is preliminary and is certainly subject to change, McCarthy, an architect, will discuss details related to public event spaces, meeting rooms, tutoring spaces, small business meeting spaces and Maker Space type opportunities, and how the plan incorporates Whitewater demographics as well as recognition of social trends.
Monday’s open house is open to the public. For more information, stop in at the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library, 431 W. Center St., Whitewater, visit online at www.whitewaterlibrary.org or call (262) 473-0530.
