Last week, officers and detectives of the Whitewater Police Department executed a search warrant at a local residence. The search warrant, executed April 14 was related to the rash of car entries experienced over the past several months in Whitewater. With the help of one of the victims, investigating officers were able to confirm the stolen items were at a local residence.
Officers recovered stolen items to include, Apple i-Pods, men’s and women’s rings, credit cards, sunglasses, radar detectors, cell phones, camcorders, Nike shoes, GPS units, computer memory sticks, compact discs and cases, car stereos, purses, and cameras among other items. Also recovered were drugs and several drug paraphernalia items.
The suspect, Cody Davis, a 21-year-old white male, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 lbs. was not at the residence at the time the search warrant was executed and has not been located. Davis is currently wanted on a parole violation and should not be approached if seen.

Keep vehicles locked
Citizens are reminded to lock their vehicles at night and are urged never to leave items of value unattended in cars under any circumstances. It is also recommended that citizens keep their garage doors locked.
In addition, local police caution citizens never to confront anyone committing a car entry, but rather to immediately call police. Anyone observing any suspicious person or activities should call 9-1-1.
The police department urges citizens who have been the victim of a car entry to report the incident to police. Even if the items taken from the car are of minor value, the incident potentially helps police to establish a pattern for these crimes.
