University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Art Instructor Kendra Bulgrin will have her artwork on display at the Whitewater Arts Alliance’s Cultural Arts Center, 402 W. Main St., through Sunday, June 30.
The show will be free and open to the public each Thursday through Sunday between the hours of noon and 5 p.m. in June.
Bulgrin’s exhibit takes a unique look into the relationships between nature and animals. Her love of the outdoors and nature, and her desire to someday have a farm with sheep and chickens are fundamental to her current work. She said she grew up heavily involved in 4-H, raising animals and working on arts and crafts.
Many of her current paintings incorporate miniatures that she has collected on her life journey. She photographs them in outdoor settings and paints from the photographs. Foremost an oil painter, she also has interests in other media such as installation, photography and ceramics.
