Young Auditorium and Bramblett Chamber Series will present the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 at Young Auditorium, 930 W. Main St. in Whitewater.
The performance features a Sound Bites lecture/discussion at 6:30 p.m. in the main lobby and a reception and opportunity to meet the artists following the performance in the lobby.
This season, the MGQ welcomes Maja Radovanlija to the group.
Radovanlija is the MGQ’s first female member and first “international” member. She comes from Belgrade, Serbia and has recently joined the guitar faculty at the University of Minneapolis.
MGQ also includes Wade Oden, Ben Gateño, and Joseph Hagedorn.
Committed educators as well as performers, members of the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet often appear to teach and present workshops at festivals and universities throughout the United States.
The cultural accessibility of the guitar makes it a natural for the MGQ’s educational and outreach programs like its two popular versions of “Guitar Talk” for ages 5-12 and 13 through adult.
Tickets are $22 for the general public and $9.25 for UW-Whitewater students, and may be purchased by calling (262) 472-2222 or visit www.uww.edu/youngauditorium.
